I understand Triton recommends not running UV (and the reasons behind the rec) with the full Triton method, but is this more of a guideline or a firm rejection of UV use with the method? I like some of the benefits UV can provide but don't want to use it to the complete detriment of my Triton system. Has anyone had success with Triton and UV or is this a non-starter?

Thanks

I run triton other methods , and I run an 11w UV 24/7 , I’ve not had any problems , but I’m not running a refugium with mine so I can’t comment on that sorry !

I think I'll give it a go. My biggest concern was any negative impact on chaeto growth in my Arid reactor which I just read in the pax bellum manual that running UV has no negative effects on the algae.

Went to purchase one from BRS and they actually steered me away from it for a reef tank. I'm inclined to go with their recommendation until I have a good reason to really need it.

I now run Triton with UV and have no problems with the 'frug for the past 6+ months. The reason I got the UV was because of a massive dino outbreak. Wish I had the UV before and not after the dinos. UV might of prevented the dinos in the first place...
