UV Clarifier Sterilizer in a new tank?

Hey all

My tank is just over 4 months old. Im fairly sick of these diatoms . I tried adding a some gfo and it seemed to help a little. Now im thinking of adding a Jebao UV Clarifier Sterilizer to help. Is this overkill?

What kind of water are you using? (RO, RO/DI, tap) At only 4 months a UV would be overkill IMO.
