Any recommendations on a uv sterilizer for an IM 30L?

Thx,
BCR

Pentair is the gold standard but not sure what’s their smallest model. Can also look into Aqua UV. Fitting any in the back chamber will likely be a challenge. I’d avoid Coralife, jbj and other cheap stuff.

ok great thx! will take a look online

The UV unit will increase your water temperature a small amount to a large amount depending on what wattage you go with and whether you run it 24/7 or part-time [emoji6] so keep that in mind if you're pushing the limits of needing a chiller already due to climate or location geographically.

I've got a similar question. Did you find one that will work with the IM 30L?

still doing research online. Many of the units seem too big to fit into the back chambers. The ones that do not require you to plumb them inline (i.e. they have a built in powerhead) seem to be cheaper. It's hard to find much online about how others are running them on AIO tanks

I'd recommend a debary unit. I use these on my bigger tank. They are absolutely quality, however I have a small nano in which I used a cheaper uv in an aio. It's not pretty but this is how it sits

What you wanna be looking for is UV-C, and a reasonably wattage. Keeping the flow dialed in to the specific requirements. Most uv's will say 90% effective at this flow for example. I can say the cheaper uv has done a reasonable job, but you can tell the difference in quality over my debary units

This is the debary website but I think you may need to find a stockist in America. Unless they will do from the eu. Mind you these are the absolute top of the range imo and their prices show that. Like I said I went a cheaper one for my little nano and I have had good results. Realistically Uv-c and a the right flow and should do a reasonable job

But I have and will use the debary on bigger systems because I think it's quality is worth it. When a bigger system has a bigger $$ value of inhabitants
