UV for large system

Here is the one I have bought. Native 2", though I've welded it down to 1 1/2". Time will tell if it's 'worth' the $360 I paid for it.

I was hoping for options beyond aqua and emperor - as I note, they seem absurdly priced to me for what you get. Anyone used TMC? Or PondMaster?

Yes, TMC is a good option, ime. I have a 25 watt on a 93 cube and 2 more 25 watt units for my 180.

The only thing is that it's easier to use barbs on the Vecton units than a hard plumb. The larger 40 watt may be different.

I have 2 return pumps for a dual overflow and have a 25 watt uv for each return, because it's more effective to have all of the water flowing through it.

I emailed the company that sells them and asked about hard plumbing and he said a 1" pvc will fit in the 25 watt Vecton. The owner Carl knows his stuff when it comes to UV's. I'm sure you've seen all the info on their site.

They're not the crappy units like the green killing machine.

It goes by tank turnover rate. Look up American aquarium products, or Vecton uv sterilizer, and they have all that info on their site.

LOL ;Playful. I hear that. I had two of their 25 watt units in my 93 cube and they take up a ridiculous amount of space IN THE TANK. I still have 3 spare bulb units for the 25 watt, but I don't think anyone will buy them, lol.

@Forsaken77 Post a link in the forsale forum and drop that link into the main dino thread (I think that's a legitimate way to go about letting folks know) on the Algae forum. Quite a few users in there...not for sure about that wattage, but seems like a good audience that might be able to use them!

Good idea. I just figured nobody used them really. And after they did use them, they wouldn't continue using them, lol.

They work, but let's say there's a cost to "cheap". I've learned some things while watching folks make them work.
