If i connect my UV sterilizer at my return pump, how do i control the GPH for my UV for my certain needs? Im confused. My return pumo is vectra s2 1400gph. Running at 60%. But when i split it for my vectra s2. How do i control the GPH specifically on it?

Since you said split off the return I would assume you are not running all of your return water through the UV. If you are looking only for hogh flow algae deterant you probably could run everything through the UV.

If you want slower flow for parasite management the you need a ball valve and flow meter before the UV (if you have enough room) or ball valve then UV then flow meter (be sure to account for the plumbing and head loss through the UV).

You will need to install and ball or gate valve , unless you purchase a flow meter (expensive) if you dont have a Apex or aquarium controller with flow meter abilities.

My suggestion would be install the valve and time how much water it can fill a measured bucket in 60secs. This will determine your flow so you can regulate.

If you don't have a valve the water will take the least path of resistance , therefore you could have reduced flow to your tank and to much through your UV
