Question for a new install. Got a 50 watt Pentiar going up and was wondering if my current head pressure point will effect the placement. I designed by using Pentiars diagram, however I did not take in consideration the current point I am restricting flow.

The below image shows the future placement of the uv with necessary ball valves and the arrow points to where I am restricting flow. Should the top of the uv go above the current gate valve restricting flow? I could move the gate valve down if needed. Any help is much appreciated.

My thought is, if you are going to restrict the pumps output, you should do it before the UV. No need to put any more water pressure in the UV than necessary.

I will move the gatevalve to the bottom of the return line, should I put it before or after the manifold I am installing for reactors?

Not meaning to state the obvious, but make sure you support the UV unit so that it doesn't put pressure on the plumbing. That Pentair is a large unit.

after the manifold.

Thanks, I cant seem to find clamps big enough for the 50 watt. I may have to get creative on how to add support for this. I was waiting for it to arrive to get a better idea on the actual size/shape to figure out my options.

Go to BRS and check these and other brackets. These are for pvc up to 4 inches diameter. There are some specifically for uv sterilizer too but sometimes only up to 40 W size. You can support the fittings below and above the sterilizer as well and not just the unit itself

Thanks, I order some of these for the plumbing, maybe I can use the bigger sizes for the actual UV itself...
