UV lamp. wahtvare the recent guidelines

Hi reefers.

So as title says. To UV or Not?
Although beneficial bacteria colonize in live rock and or sand, is it safe to UV? My thoughts?
UV when adding new life for a few hours depending on the uv.
What are opinions from experienced reefers?
I use a 9w on a 600lph pump for 2 hours post adding something new in my tank.
