Uv light

I moved into my first house with my fiance a month ago. When setting up my tank the uv timer had gotten the program wiped from it. I just got checked it out today. Should I be worried about it now going or it will help being plugged in. Will it affect my sps frags?

Uv cannot hurt when used in any combo up to all the time and steps below

I assume you mean a violet light or is it a UV filter?
