OK I am getting my shopping list together to plumb the IM 200 ext. peninsula
I wanted to run my UV plumping ideas through all you reefers out there.

this is what I am working with: ( pic from IM)

on my last peninsula tank RS 650P I did run the UV off a manifold dump back in to RT chamber work fine.
yes I know the "best" way is back in to the DT but that would have look quite ugly.

so my Ideas /options on this tank are:
1. T off the return line add a nice gate valve in to UV then back to return line then up to the 2X returns.
2. run UV on it's own pump dump back in front of RT pump. not ideal but would work.
3. T off return for UV then out put of UV goes to one side of the DT very imbalanced flow in DT

as of right now I am leaning towards #1 just not sure the flow would work like that.
thoughts?

looking through some IM 200 tank set ups there are a few that do #2 with power heads in the DT the the imbalance of flow would not matter.

tank with be FOWLR for now and PH will be 2x mp40s and maybe one gyre center tank.

I’m a fan of number 2. Having a designated pump for your UV “not” on a timed outlet is great. Both uv and pump should go on and off at the same time. Your t-off from return is risky because when you shut off your main tank return pump say for maintenance you run the risk of burning out your uv bulb because cool water isn’t running through the uv unit. Not that you couldn’t unplug the uv. But that’s just one more thing to think about. Mines set up like a #2.

very good point!
leaning towards that way its the simplest solution.
