Hi all I’m working on plumbing my new build and I’m a little stumped with one part. I am going to have a a manifold and one line will be dedicated to a UV sterilizer with a ball valve to control flow going in. My question is can the UV using barb fittings be plumbed coming from the return líneas the input and one going back to the return line for the output with no issues? If it cannot be plumbed that way does it make sense to have the output of the return line back to the return section of the sump wouldn’t it just keep collecting the same water?

hi if i am reading right ,out of manifold back to manifold /no think would be like back pressure, manifold to sump on approx 400 gal assuming, recommend 700gph through uv basically two x the tank per hour no problem in my opinion
happy reefing
ps good uv imo

Mines plumbed so flow goes from the manifold and back into the return section but there is enough flow, and it’s running 24/7, you won’t have any issues filtering the same water.

Some may go back through but most will go back to the tank.
