I have not put the build thread together as I am still putting together the final list of my upgrade to a 325 Gallon custom tank from a 120. The question is I will have two returns, with two return pumps. What are people’s thoughts on only doing one UV on one return or should it be both? I am just worried about space but wanted to know what other people have done.

I was going to place an 80-Watt Classic UV Sterilizer (Up to 600g) for the one return, knowing it would handle the flow rate around 800- 1000 GPH an hour.

Thanks

you only need one UV unit, the important thing is flow.

I run two return pumps. One is dedicated for the UV straight to the return line into the tank. As previously mentioned above, this allows you to control the flow.

Your plan is good.

If you plan to use one return pump, place the UV between the pump and where you branch to the two returns. Get the highest wattage you can accommodate and run full speed.

Edit: The only reason to use two pumps is if one pump does not have adequate flow, I use one pump on my 125 gallon.
