Anyone is running this? Opinion? I want to install it as part of my Reefer 250 build. Will there be issue if I run it 24/7?

I use a 25 watt. I recently installed it after nearly giving up on a Dino battle. One week after install the Dino’s were gone. Tank is crystal clear. I rub it 24/7. Most will recommend that.

I think yours is not HOB one. The HOB max is 15 watts. Good to hear that you have good experience.

Ah sorry, missed the HOB in your title. How large is your tank? Typically you want 1w per 3g. My total system is 91g so I fell a bit short but it still did it’s job.

65 gallon minus rocks and sands

Anyone with Red Sea Reefer 250 installed Aqua ultraviolet hang on back on their sump? I just want to see if they are fit.

I’ll chime back in, if nothing else to give you a bump. I have a 350 - if the 250 is anything like mine there is no room in the sump area for anything to hang over the side. Red Sea makes it TIGHT.

hey thanks :)

I am not concerned with sideways room. I have room sideways. My concern is the height of the device plus the cable when it plugged on the bottom it will add more height to the device. Will the device hang properly?

Check out my build. I have V3 sump. I use the refugium section as skimmer, and I use the skimmer section as refugium plus marine pure balls. I plan to install the inlet and outlet in this refugium area as I have more room.

Well, it looks like it's 12.5 inches without the cord. I believe the height of your sump wall is 13.5 inches. An INCH should give you enough room for the cord to bend, but it will be tight. Worst case scenario.. it floats a bit up and you use a strong double sided tape to add a clip on the wall of the stand and zip tie the UV to it. Side note, I had to go to BRS to get these dimensions.. when the new packages arrive and my wife threatens me with death I'm giving her your name.

Or, to be even safer - mount an oring and just hang it on that.

What?! You got one for yourself when you went to BRS just now and looked for the measurement?? lol Funny!

Yeah tell her that and tell her that she does not have to worry about giving you anything on father's day (if there is one lol)

Actually, there is more than 1". The device hangs starts about 1.5" from the top if my eyes are correct.

Nope, I went easy and bought a few apex things instead . Good call on the extra hang - standby as I search for my “o-ring” idea.

Can’t find the imaginary thing I was making up. But this should work, and it’s PVC.

If I use something like that, I have to hang it on the back corner so that I can use the bracket and mount it on the cabinet and not on the glass.

Yup, that was my "last resort" thought. Other than of course hanging it on your display... but if you're anything like me that isn't an option. You could always get a full size unit and mount it outside of the tank if you have a nook that you can hide it in.. but then you're cutting holes in your stand to get the input and output in place.

are you running UV too? Someone on this forum said that people said to him to not install the input/outlet in the sump and directly to the DT. Do you have any idea whether there is downside of directing the inlet and outlet to the sump?

I am, I'm running the AquaUV 25 watt. My inlet and outlet are both in the skimmer chamber - the outlet is right near the foam wall that goes into the return chamber.

I have not heard about the requirement of the DT - in fact, I'd wager that almost everyone that has it mounted has it going into their sump area. A lot of people on this forum will tell you UV is a MUST for them... and I doubt they have tubes running up and down their DT walls.
