UV Sterilizer effects on ORP

My ORP drops approximately 50 points while my UV sterilizer is on and immediately begins to increase when I turn it off. I would expect the opposite to occur. Any thoughts as to what might be happening? Is this normal?

When the UV sterilizer kills things in the water I would think the ORP would drop.

That's my expectation too, dead organisms tending to lower ORP.
