UV sterilizer for 40 Breeder?

So I have a Dino problem in one of my tanks, I have tried low nutrient, high nutrient, letting algae run rampant to outcompete it but it just grows on top of it... I’ve decided to try UV but I am unsure of which one would be enough and not too much for a 40 Gallon breeder. Thanks....

What UV sterilizer are you going with! Good choice to try and combat dinos.. UV can work on certain forms for sure! And why not throw the kitchen sink at it to get it away!

Lol, my question was asking which UV sterilizer would be good enough for a 40 breeder but wouldn’t be a over kill(wasting money). I haven’t decided on one yet lol

It’s a 13 watt bulb and 8 watt pump. Also I don’t leave it permanently in my tank. Only use when needed.

I use a 9w coralvue twist on my 80 system works great. I don't think there is overkill on a uv especially when not running 24/7 like mine

I use my left over 9 watt turbotwist on my 40 gallon frag tank. Does wonders on water quality.
