UV sterilizer in 40g AIO

anybody running a uv sterilizer in an AIO, specifically a 40 gal receife.

currently having a velvet outbreak that has going fish-less for the month or so. remaining fish are doing well in hospitalization (at least for now).

thinking of 2 situations:
1. find something that fits in my one of my chambers, possibly my media basket chamber since i'm not running anything in them. leave it their permanently. will help keep water clean, kill algae, etc.
2. if its too big of pain in the butt to find something permanent find something that is cheap and effective that i can drop in the tank on a temp basis. like drop that sucker in right now while i'm cleaning up waiting for velvet to flush out. and then once back to normal drop it in, maybe once a month for a week. would that do anything??

i dunno. just brainstorming throwing out ideas. maybe uv sterilizer won't have any impact. i dunno. i hear the big tank guys going on and on about them.

My UV is external so I've never used one of these but it look like it might be perfect for an AIO. Maybe somebody that has one can comment on it's effectiveness.

I've had my innovative marine 40g going for about a year. I've had the 9w green killing machine running the entire time. Other than a quick bubble algae outbreak (high nitrates) I've never had an algae problem. Fish are pest free. Water is crystal clear. I have a healthy pod population. I'm running 7 nano fish so I'm arguably over stocked, but my tank is healthy. I can't say for sure the UV is making a difference because I've never taken it offline, but my tank is doing well with it running.

There are some SunSun units with adjustable flow rate. I have one of the 13w units that I use in a 28-gal. I keep the flow rate turned way down to increase the contact time.
My concern with the Green Killing Machines is I believe the flow rate is optimized for algae and not for parasites. If it's adjustable go for it, but make sure you can get a slow enough flow for parasites.
