UV sterilizer install

So I have my sterilizer piped. See photo. Do I glue the pipes right to the fittings on the sterilizer?
It just seems odd to me for some reason.

It looks like you're running hard pipe to barb connections. Usually you need a piece of flex hose. I'd really consider running a ball valve before the inlet then 2 unions so you can remove it for maintenance

Yeah, those barb fittings are for use with tubing (not hard pipe).

So I would use a barb fitting to hard pipe coupling then. The hard pipe works so much better with my current set up. Do they make such a thing?

Your local hardware store should have something like this in the size you need for the PVC pipe and tubing. Glue to the pipe then use a piece of tubing and clamps between the pipe and UV.
