I have just purchased a coralife 6x sterilizer for my 130 gal tank with sump. I've read the most effective way is to pass the return through the sterilizer into the tank? Is this a must? The flow rate on the sterilizer says 200 400 gph but my return is 1100! How would that work? So I can't just flow it through from one section of the sump to the return section? Any help appreciated

First of, what are you trying to do with the UV? 18w isn’t all that much punch for a tank that size.
You can’t take water a section ahead of the return and dump it in the return section, that will just overflow the return. If you can’t hook it up to the return line do the above but the other way around.

I'm just looking for that super clear water. Coralife says this uv is good up to 250 gal? I have a small pump I was going to put in my sump and return it back into my sump? I do also have a 2nd return line but it goes into the bottom of my tank. If I attached it to that would the pressure be too much for the small 320gph pump?

If you wanted to run it through your return pump, you would need to install a manifold with a valve. I recommend using a separate pump that can be dialed down....pulling from and returning to the sump.
