Uv sterilizer installe question

Hello guys I have the waterbox reef 130.4... I am Installing a pentair smart uv 40 watts... I was thinking to put it on ita own pump......would the uv work good pulling water from the return. Chamber... Then the uv return. Would be in the skimmer chamber what do u guys think?

Your best pulling water into the UV from the last cleanest stage of your sump . Usually from the return section . Using a second pump is fine but make sure to either buy a pump that is adjustable for flow and or put a valve after the pump to control the flow . I suggest depending on the tank , run that pump through the UV at no more than 100 -150 gph to give plenty of contact time to insure optimal results .

I just did the fill the bucket to figure out uv turn over... I came up with 163 gph... I am. Using sicce 1.5 pump...

That’s fine as the more contact time the better it works at killing bad stuff in your water . I have mine coming off a manifold back into the return section of my sump and I running mine which is a pentair 25 watt at approximately 150 gph

I was thinking about using my manifold but did know if I could do that with out missing up my tune on my simplicity 1600 dc...... My manifold is on the same line as my return here's a Pic... Do u have any pics of how u have ur uv installed?

My uv has been running for while on my waterbox reef 130.4 I have it on its own pump in return chamber...and returning to skimmer chamber
