I'm looking to add a UV sterilizer for parasite mitigation purposes. I know it is by no means a "solution" at all per se, but it seems to be a standard approach people take based on threads I've read on the topic. I've learned that getting the right flow + unit is especially important, though.
I have Reefer 300Xl, (80 gal total volume) and am looking to hang the unit on the back of the DT with a pump hidden in an inside corner of display behind the scape. The math behind getting the right combination of UV size plus flow is throwing me for a bit of a loop, so I was hoping to see what other people used or even an example of how you went about calculating your own unit if no one else has a comparable system. From my previous post + some digging it seems like a 55W or so unit could do a solid job, but the flow is really where I have the most questions. My budget based on some very broad research would be in the 300-500 USD range in an ideal world, and I'm hoping to maybe find a used unit locally, but also willing to spend what it takes to do this the right way. Thanks so much in advance!
