UV Sterilizer question

How long should I be running the UV light. Right now I am running it at night when the lights turn off from the DT.

I’ve always run my UV’s 24x7, not sure there is any benefit to turning it off for periods of time.

just curious if turning it on 24/7 will kill the beneficial bacteria on my tank. My tank is 4 months old now.

When I use mine, I run it 24/7. I only recently removed to because I redid my returns.

Bacteria is in the sand and on the scape and not in the water column.

That bacteria is on your rocks. Not in the water. Why are you running UV in the first place?

No need to worry about that. I run a huge UV on my tanks and never an issue.
