The reef tank that I am currently running is a 75 gallon with sump. I'd like to purchase a UV light for the tank but I am unsure as to which brand and which size to buy for my tank. Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Aqua Ultraviolet - Excellent Quality, excellent customer service. I just hooked up their SL 200 and in 5 days my 4 month battle of Cyno, Dino's and GHA are all gone. One of the best pieces of equipment I've added to my reef ever. I should have done this long ago. The big question will be, what are you trying to do, Clarify water? or Sterilize water. It takes a much larger U.V. to actually sterilize water. The below website has some good info on sizing. ( some people will disagree with the microwattts per cm2 to kill algae, bacteria, & Protozoans. the Protozoan being the bug that will require the most power and dwell time, along with a few different formulas for figuring the watts needed. THis is where the debate starts ( Protozoans )

I'm actually new to the reefing hobby. So I'm a sponge just trying to soak in all the morsels of information and apply them to my tank. I only stated "sterilizer" in the thread title as that is what I see on most of the products that are available.

I tell so many ppl that a UV is not a cure all, but simply the best insurance you can buy against outbreaks of various undesirables dollar for dollar. Glad you were able to employ it with success
