For that size aquarium. I think a nice 36W turbo Twist would do the trick. There are better UV sterilizers, but that will do a good job. I ran that one on my 255gallon for a long time. You can run the UV from a manifold or a pump in the sump. The UV sterilizer can be mounted on the stand or behind the stand etc.
I guess I'm not sure how to hook these things up. My sump is built in the back of the tank. I'm not sure if there is room to add anything to it.. I'll call BRS today maybe they can explain it to me as what I need. Do people run these 24/7?
The UV sterilizer will be mounted outside the sump. There will be a flow rating on the unit for gph. You will need to supply the recommended flow via a pump. Rather that be from an individual pump or manifold, etc. That is up to you. I personally run mine 24/7. The uv sterilizer you will need is not submersible. I hope this helps.
OK if the actual sterilizer is mounted outside the tank so where and how do I take the water to run through the sterilizer and how do I get it back in the tank?
OK Thanks. I've got them both. I'm doing a 3 day black out. Should I do a major water change after the 3 days? I have been doing a 10g change once a week I have about 65g in the tank. So many different opinions on how to get rid of it.
