UV Sterilizer

Get a Vecton V2 - it’s Aqua UV quality at half the price. TMC, the manufacturer, makes the UV for the London Aquarium - big in the U.K. and American Aquarium sells them in the US.

I’ve used both the Aqua UV and Vecton. I prefer the Vecton.

Do you have a direct link to the US seller. I can't find it. It looks like the 25 watt Aqua UV is going to be to long. I have 20 inches on my left side wall in my cabinet. This is the only place to put it.

Where do you put them? In your DT or sump?

I put both in my sump and they are literally dead silent. I don’t even know they are on unless I look at the light, indicator which is nice because they will flash when it’s time to change the bulb. I will take a pic when I get home :)

OK Thanks

Aqua UV and rainbow lifeguard.
Medium quality are coralife and aquamaster.

I have had the Aqua UV 15 for about 2.5 years. It is soft plumbed off T from return line on my Waterbox 100.3. It works great and the bulb is easy to replace. From what I have heard and read, I would get the one without the Squeegee as it could leak over time. (I have the non-squeegee version.)
I had the TurboTwist originally and it lasted about 3-4 years, but bulb was annoying to change plus the Aqua UV is just more sturdily built.
Aqua UV costs more, but worth it it my opinion.

Looking for a good and popular sterilizer. I have the Red Sea Max e260 with upgraded sump. I know some think they are a waist of money. I happen to think not. So no need for negative responses.Thanks. If you non believers have one for sale I may be interested.

Man I just got this uv sterilizer from Lowes believe it or not from I believe smartpond brand! It's rated for 2,000 ponds but I had gotten this as a last effort to defeat a Dino outbreak I mean a terrible outbreak bc I was about to break down my tank and within 36-48 hrs of running this bad boy, every piece of algae had disappeared and all my corals and my nems got a lot brighter and started growing fast as all get out!!!! And it's so easy to set up too!! So I strongly recommend this one man!!!! I found it at lowes for $50 but was regular $100 and more importantly,I've been in contact with their HR department and I can get whoever wants to go with their brand a crazy great price!!!!! Pm me if interested

I really like the Lifeguard Aquatics Pro-max series. I have a 55w on my 125 and then a 120w on my 450. They are built well and have great quality for the price. Also liveaquaria has all sizes 50 percent off! You cannot beat that! Plus you could get a 15-20 percent off code to get even more savings.

Can you pm me the 15-20% off code?
I wanna go big and get the 120w 5” bazooka for my 210.

It’s only 9w according to amazon.

I am currently running an Aqua UV 57 watt and have been very happy with it. Seems to be built very tough as well. It is the more compact one so doesnt really take up that much room. I know that is probably larger than u want but i think they make a 25 watt version and a 15 watt thats built the same way. I have mine on the floor behind tank and run soft plumbing and its own pump so can move it from the tank in a matter of minutes if i choose to not use for ahile or on another tank. For a cheaper option, years ago i used a coralife twist. It definitely worked. Advantages would be small size and cheaper price. Build quality definitely not as good and plastic housing seemed a bit fragile but i actually never had any trouble with it.

I had a very very weird but terrible algae outbreak and this uv took it all away in no crap in about 36 hrs ALL GONE! Also for UV, 9w is all you need to kill bacteria or algae man
