Can you run a uv sterillizer on a reef tank while using macro algae

Unless you have some crazy non-shielded UV sterilizer (they have them on Amazon) you are fine. The UV sterilizer only kills what passes across the bulb. As long as your macro isn't being sucked up the UV pump and passing through it won't kill it. If that were true anything in the tank would be affected.
