UV Violet LED's vs an Actinic T5?

Anyone know how the UV Violet LED's (410-420nm) compare visually to an Actinic T5 bulb? PAR not an issue, just appearance. Wondering if they'd appear close color wise. Thanks

These wavelengths are not overly visible to the human eye, but from most accounts they bring out more vivid pigments and sharper color in SPS.

I have a couple of TV's on my seahorse tank. I can't visually notice any difference after adding them.

They're a must for any led array IMO. The ratio has to be run pretty high to have a "noticeable" contrast especially if they're used w royal blues, but the coral coloration is improved even with just a few, it's just more of a subtle look. You notice the corals pop more but not necessarily with a violet effect

Not neccessary, but you can add a few for supplement to royal blues. I would reccomend 100% royal blue leds to replace T-5 actinict

thought about adding a few stunner 403 to my ai sole blue to help with loss of pinks and reds. Not sure if its a experiment with merit.

You'll have better results adding a couple 660nm reds IMO, and somehow wire them onto their own dimmable channel so you can adjust to your liking.

+1, you only need a couple reds, they are the lowest energy light, they will do little more than add some reds to the sps.
