UWW rainbow sunburst montipora

This monti seems to be a rarer species not documented often. their might be lots of frags floating around of them but from what I can see not a lot of pictures of them. Lets see your frags of this amazing looking coral. I have a small frag of it but will post when I can get some time to photograph it.

I still have it.

It really needs higher light and uneven surfaces to get the blue to come in. This is an older picture when I had it in the frag tank which was only 8 inches deep.

Now that is is in my display on the bottom, it lacks the blue and looks like a reverse sunset.

I just lost most of a giant colony of Red Robin (18 x 24 inches) and have a big section of real estate open in high light, maybe I will move it up there for a while and see if the colors come back.

Very nice! Yea tons of light and seems to glow under LED’s. Crazy pigmented monti but for me the orange glow of the polyps is what I really like about this one. You can see at the bottom of the pic that over time as the colony matures it may start to branch like this one.

UWW = Underwater World, was a coral mail order site. May have had a storefront too, not sure. They closed up about 6 years ago, but not before they had this one up for sale. Here is their picture that got everyone all excited. Not my pic - from a different R2R thread
