Anyone have experience with this food? Their website and ingredients list look very clean and I just ordered some from Marine Depot. They only had one review so far!

I think they are fairly well known for their frozen foods, so I figured I would give it a go. I’ve tried NLS pellets and PE Mysis pellets and I’m hoping to discover a new favorite!

I got some for free back in November when I ordered my Icecap Gyre 1K.
its exactly what it says extremely small pellets mixed with "protein" its what they call it.
they are soft. my problem is they seem to sink so fast the fish hardly get a chance to go after them. its a nice thing to change up daily feeding habits. but I wasn't super impressed honestly.
nothing really against it. but I feed a mix of small and medium size new life spectrum pellets and LRS reef frenzy. I didn't see these adding a lot, for me. but if you go to their website it says they do best as part of an auto feeder regimen. and I could see the pellets working well there as even though they are "moist" they do not want to clump and I would imagine pour easily.
it also makes note of using a baster or other type item to spot feed these to coral. which I haven't tried but does sound like it could be interesting.

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to just try it and see. A few of my fish really like to watch for when the pellets sink and grab them out of the water like my flame hawk and melanarus wrasse.

Topic change: How do you like the Gyre 1k? I have the 3k and have found it to be SUPER powerful (almost too much).

my partial review is here https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/icecap-gyre-2k.325874/page-10#post-4460452
but to sum it up the 1k isn't worth the cash when for 20 dollars more you can get the 3k.
it only makes sense if you are space limited in a very small tank or a very particular use. the only reason I have it is I preordered when it was still listed as 2k and at a discount of $100.
but I mean it does exactly what it is supposed to do. and the new style controller seems friendly to navigate. time will tell on longevity.
I have it on a IM 25 lagoon.

I order it and my fish go crazy over it...

So I got the food today and my fish love it.

It doesn’t sink nearly as fast as I would have guessed, even with my pumps still on. I think the fish like the softer pellet feel. It also has a pretty strong aroma so I bet that helps too. Ingredient list looks clean similar to other pellets they like; not a lot of junk.

My fish love this stuff. I literally hand feed it to my Sohal and Naso.

Another bonus is that it's moist so it's easier for the fish to eat and it doesn't stay on top of the water.

My only problem is that I don't have a source for V2O products now that Marine Depot shut down.
