Did you happen to ever try it out?A fellow reefer from here said I could use his meter. I could always use his and compare with it. For less than 200.00 bucks it’s tempting to try it.
Not yet. I got some other stuff for the tank lol. I’m going too get it pretty soon. Once I get it I’m going to rent an apogee and borrow the one that was offered to me to compare. I’ll post the results when I do.Did you happen to ever try it out?
I'm pretty interested to see how it does. I really want to add a PAR meter to my list of tools. But currently, other things have taken priority in the finance department. Not yet. On amazon the company has an aquarium one. Might be the same device but waterproof. I’ll look into that.I would definitely buy it if you plan to grow Cannabis-it is advertised especially for this purpose or at least for growing plants in greenhouses, NOT for growing corals.
It could be an aquarium one, but is it reef tank or planted freshwater tank?On amazon the company has an aquarium one. Might be the same device but waterproof. I’ll look into that.
I have one: VBR-AQUAFound a Vabira PAR meter on Amazon for 169.00. Has anyone tried one and if so are they confident in the outcome?
Thinking about buying one does it still seem to be working well or do you think its worth spending a little extra for one of the apogee meters?I have one: VBR-AQUA
It works well, and appears to be fairly accurate. I do not have another PAR meter to compare it with, but it's giving me numbers that are very close to the specs from Red Sea on the LED-90 lights.
I also checked it with my LFS running Kessel's, and the output seems in range.
So at this point, I'm happy with the meter.
Sorry for the delayed response. For my purposes, I'm happy with this one. It's just my opinion, but I don't feel I need to be accurate within 5-10 PAR. Basically I'm just looking for 200-300 near the top and 50-150 near the bottom. I'm convinced, by testing it with the output quoted by Red Sea and also Kessil lights, that the meter is giving me readings that are accurate enough.Thinking about buying one does it still seem to be working well or do you think its worth spending a little extra for one of the apogee meters?
