So I’m going to be going back home to Florida for my vacation this year and I know there will be some corals that I will wanna bring back home with me. But I will be flying back to the west cost. Dose anyone know if I can check corals as luggage?

Been researching this a lot lately as I plan on attending reefapalooza is California this fall. I’ve read that as long as they can see it’s alive they will let you on with it. Question is how do you convince someone that a coral is alive. Maybe someone else on here has experience with this?

When I came home from Florida, I brought stuff for my tank back. I took it carry on in a cooler instead of my normal backpack though. The TSA guys individually inspected each bag and let me through without a problem although they did laugh because it’s something I’m sure they’ve never seen before. Just mention it to the guys before they check it and make sure you’re nice to them and smile, I’m sure if they like your attitude they’re be a little more lenient and kind back :)

I’m fine with checking it because I know you can only have so much fluids in the cabin. I would hate to spend a couple hundred bucks and they tell me that I’m. SOL
