Nearly every LFS I know does tank sitting. And if you've been in the hobby long enough I'm sure you've made reasonable friends with your LFS. If not it doesn't hurt to for these situations. The LFS I trust the most charges me $100 a week to come by 2-3 times a week and check on the tank perform basic maintenance (empty skimmer cup, fill up ato, clean glass that sort of stuff) and just check on everything. If a water change is needed in the time your away charges an extra $30 to do a water change for you.
The other benefit is if I do have an equipment failure, he will call me and say what failed, and give me a choice of a new product from him or a loan product from him till I get back, usually they require a credit card payment but it has happened and because I spend the time to become friends with my LFS he let me fix it up my costs when I got back. That is important because simply having an apex and a camera watching the system will tell you if something fails but what is it going to do about the failure??
