Vacuuming sand and vermiarid snails nets

So today I vacuumed sand and siphoned that brown gunkky liquid that comes out during water change. What I noticed was during this time an explosion of vermatid snail releasing their nets. Did this happen as the vermatid snails saw an opportunity to grab food? Has this happened to anyone?

Yes- they are triggered by movement and send out feeders for opportunity
 
Ugh I bought 20 bumble bee snails in the past for my 180..sound slide I need 20 more
