wanting more info on valentini puffers before I buy. I know to feed krill and raw shrimp. As far as inverts: if I stock in 10 or 20 crabs every month along with raw shrimp or krill will that suffice or will it over eat through the crabs producing to much waste and nitrites.
What do you do for reef cleaner packs if at all?
Will it attack snails ( I assume yes)?
How often to feed?

Well you know what to feed. How much will not really be known until you get him/her home a see what kind of appetite it has. You will have some control over that too.

My Valentini ate almost anything I fed. Flake food, pellets, frozen food, fresh seafood, nori, live food. He ate everything I tried him on except freeze dried krill.
I wouldn't bother with adding crabs at the moment. You don't know for sure he'll eat them and once they're in they can be a pain to get out.
I would just feed some fresh shrimp, squid and mysis. A lot of them will graze on algae off the rocks to keep there teeth worn down. Some don't though, but you can throw some feeder shrimp in there for that.
For my CUC I had the usual things you'd find in a reef. Snails, shrimp and starfish. He occasionally went after a shrimp but the shrimp were too fast and he only caught one or two for every 10 I'd add with the snowflake eel getting the rest.
It's a hit or miss with them eating snails. Mine didn't at first but over time developed a liking to them, but would only have one every so often.
Feed everyday like a regular fish and you should be fine :)
