I looked over at my tank and saw that one of
My small hermit crabs was out of his shell. And my Valentini pufferfish, "squirt" being the little pig that he his could not resist the urge to get him self a free meal. Aha. Does and one else have a funny story like this? Also post the pics of your Valentini I would love to see them!!

Valentini pufferfish are ninja's!

:D a valentini story and show off thread!? About time!

"Puffy" eats out of my hand, blows bubbles and spits water when he's hungry and always ALWAYS finds a way to get in the way of the camera.
I won't be having another tank without a puffer any time soon!

I used to have a special one.

Love this little guy. I've only had my tank for a year, but he was one of the first fish I ever bought and he's been a delight as the reef has grown. I have a male/female pair of blue throat triggerfish that love him. He is a little pig and is the first one to the top at feeding time!

Beautiful little fish you got there! My Valentini was the first saltwater fish I brought and has powered through all my beginner mistakes and is still going strong. By far one of the best marine fish out there. Their pretty, their not aggressive, they have lots of character and are very hardy!

Just one of the coolest fish around... tons of personality, easy going, after about 6 months of training - eats everything (even flakes)... but I trimmed "Percy's" teeth for the first time yesterday: HOLY STRESSFUL! But all is well now. Best money spent in the aquarium. He's like a good bartender, will sit at the front of your tank while you him all your woes! Just great!

Any of you guys have shrimp with the little puffer?
Mine wouldn't touch shrimp until I got a snowflake eel. I'm assuming he saw the eel eat them and decided he wanted to fit in :)

My little fellas teeth continually grow, but he wears them down himself by picking at the rock work. Perhaps yours will too next time? I was only a few days from trimming the teeth myself and all of a sudden they were gone! As long as yours can still eat, I say wait and see if he learns to do it himself. It'll save a lot of stress in the long run :)

How do you trim a fishs teeth?

You have to put the fish to sleep (I don't remember exactly how though. I think it's clove oil?) then cut the teeth with finger nail clippers.
I don't imagine it would be much fun for the fish or yourself.
