I've never fragged zoas mostly because I'm terrified of palytoxin but these are getting out of hand so I thought about selling the entire rock... but I absolutely love the colors so maybe I'll read up more about doing it because I'd hate to let them go!

Beautiful! An easy trick is to put some rubble right next to where you want the edge of the colony to be. Every now and then, after the zoos grow into the rubble, just remove it and put new rubble down. Instant natural frags you can trade :)

It really isn’t hard to frag. I just started doing it with some of these I got at the oct fragfest theyve grown really fast for me. Just wear gloves and eye protection and you’ll be fine.

I put a little palytoxin on my cornflakes in the morning... ;Woot

Seriously tho, it isn't hard to frag. Just do as the guy above me said. Gloves, eye protection and keep your mouth shut. Or just get a face shield. Don't cut the polyps but the mat between them.

Those are beautiful zoas.

Thanks everyone, I would get some PPE and give this a shot! These still go for about 5 bucks a head and the pic doesn't show how big the rock is so it will be nice to thin it out some.

I use a small wood chisel/carving tool to help peel the mat off and to cut. Much easier than using a razor blade IMO
