Varios 4 | 1 1/4 Union Does Not Fit

I just disassembled everything to install a manifold using the 1 1/4" union that came with the pump (I don't have a spare 1" one). I went to screw on the union and it does not fit...am I missing a piece or am I doing something wrong?

The 1 1/4" is for the draw side of the pump. 1' for output.

Yup figured it out. Too bad I glued so I had to use soft plumbing for the night.
