Hello, I am planning a 150gallon tank, and thinking of using 2 Varios 6, 2 questions:

1- Do you guys think they are too much and I should go with a 2 Varios 4 instead?
2- Did anyone ever attempt a battery backup for the 6? I know they are 36v so either 3x 12v batteries or a big LiPo4 36v 20-35Ah would do the trick..

A1: Are they both for return outlets or is one to run a manifold?
A2: No. Your best bet for extended emergencies is to place one or more powerheads on battery backup as you'll potentially get several days of circulation.

They are both for return, I have a separate pump for a manifold with UV and carbon/GFO

if using deep cell or lipo batterys and inverter you can run any pump. and if you know how much power that device uses per hour its very easy to figure out how many hours your battery bank will last for
