My apex base will be 25' from my dt led setup. Would it be better to run a long 23awg cat6 cable to control the dimming or put drivers downstairs and run the output wires of the drivers up through the basement to the heatsinks. I have 100' of solid dual 18awg wire the kind they use for commercial sprinkler alarm systems an I also have 100' of commercial cat6 which is 4pr 23awg wire. On reef led lights site he rammed 22awg doorbell wire into a rj45 because of the 30' distance any electrician gurus out there that can lend some advice on voltage drop on a 0-10vdc 10mah 30' run??

Don't think it really matters man... It's such low voltage and really only used as a remote wire to power on on and off.... Some apex units seem to put out a tad more than 10v anyways... Make sure you check I have seen readings of 10.3v coming out at 100 percent...

Thanx for the info hope it works out the way I do it. Just gonna run cat6 which is 23awg vs cat5 is 24awg

Should be fine man honestly... Even if it was to drop let's say 1v that's being" super drastic" your corals will thank you lol... I never had mine above 80 percent it would fry stuff.... The cables bill gave me where 15ft and I added a good 20ft with no issues..:
