Itll be trial and error. All depended on how much your overflow is rated for. Best bet is to start out low and slowly ramp it up until you find the spot you like that your overflow can handle.

its a marineland 48x24xx24 dont know really anything about how much the overflow can handle i have it 60% it not goin straight have a couple of elbows on the plumbing pvc dosent fell like its vibrating

What type of pump head do you have on the system? The L1 is built to move a fair bit of water, if your sump is under the tank you wont need to run that pump very quickly. In my opinion the L1 is more of a downstairs sump pump because of the 3000+ gpm. You want anywhere (not written in stone) from 5-10 gpm turnover in your sump. That puts you at approx 600-1200 gpm. Find your pump curve and see approximately how much pump head pressure you have and check the chart, should give you an idea of roughly where you need to be.

Sump is underneath the tank I have 2 mp40 one on each side for water movement Itshard plumbed with a union n some elbows

If it were me I would try to get around 5x to 6x the tank volume going through the sump which if you have approx 5-6 of head, would be in the neighborhood of 35%-40%.

i have it at 60% only because i have 4 elbows and a union so i figured with the water going in different directions i would lose some pressure my stand is 36 high
