I have a waterbox reef lx 340.7. I am currently using the soft tubing that came with the aquarium with my L2 return pump.

Has anyone hard plumbed a vectra to a waterbox. I wanted to know what your experience has been and what size pvc you used. Thanks.

more of a curiosuty, also in the new lx sumb the vectra isnt sitting on all its legs due to the way the design of the return and the return chamber in the sump it doesnt line up vertically. Thats all

The joints of the pvc will diminish your flow power. Just get the same size soft tubing but longer.

After helping a fellow reefer who cracked his 150 gallon tank, with hard piping. He was doing maintenance on his sump. I vowed to never Hard Pipe. Take the pump out, wear gloves invert it over a sink, and pour boiling water over the tubing, avoiding the pump. Re-Shape the tubing while it is hot. Also if you have a heat gun, you can use it to shape the tubing.

how did, the hard pipe crack his tank? Many of folks run PVC and I haven't hear about it causing an issue with the tank.

question for ya. just ordered one, what size PVC pipe is it in the drain? (I second using flex hose --not the corrugated stuff tho; that could be noisy --don't firmly anchor the sump and the tank due to crack issue if they are moved).
