Vectra M1 or L1?

I'm putting in a new sump for my 50g and have a spare M1 and L1 sitting around that I was thinking of using for my return pump. It's a 50g sump and I will be running a 4 valve manifold system off the return line as well. The return into the display tank is 2 3/4" closed loops that dump in behind the rocks. calculated head pressure will be around 8' total.

Which pump would you guys suggest and why?

You might be able to get away with both, but it depends on what you run from your manifold. I currently have my M1 running two x two 3/4" LocLine and a manifold, but I'm getting just enough turnover to allow the RFG nozzles to work without anything connected to the manifold.
