I am looking for a reliable DC pump for my new build. Should be about 120 gallons total between 2 tanks. Wondering which of these has more reliability and if either would be OK to split between 2 tanks for a return pump?

When I setup my new tank a few months back, I looked at both brands and ended up with the Vectra M2.
I've used both. Both worked great. But I've had good luck a Vectra for a longer period of time.

I used to have an M1 pump and had nothing but trouble and by the sounds of it the 2's aren't that much more reliable, when my M1 finally packed in after 13 months I got a varios 6, best thing I ever did, it is absolutely silent even on full, comes with float switch to switch it off automatically should sump level change higher or lower, and has a 0-10v port to connect to apex, ghl etc, comes with all the different attachments you would ever need and mine has never missed a beat.

They're both made in china DC pump motors and housings, with a crappy 1 year warranty. If you want long term reliability it will be from DE and will cost more, or go with a quality AC brand that is near bulletproof.

Yes, love how a "premium" brand can't even include a intake strainer that would add all of 10 cents to the BOM.

I have never used a Vectra pump. But I a varios pump that I have been using for 5 years without issue. They are about the easiest pump to take apart and clean, and there's no screws to remove to take it apart. twist and pull.
