My red sea 350 will be here this week and I need a pump the new vectra s1 is rated for 1400gph and is more efficient . The m1 is rather at 2000gph. Red sea says 790 gph is recommend. Based off that I know the s1 will work but whay, would you chose? Will only run the tank and gfo/carbon reactor

I have a M1 on a Reefer 250. I prefer to have a larger pump and run it slower than not have enough pump. I also think DC pumps are quieter when run at a lower speed.

Add up the head height + whatever plumbing and bends you'll have for the reactor and you should be able to estimate how much gph you actually need.

I was running a Sicce Syncra 5.0 all the way up on an XL425 and now am running a Neptune COR-20 at about 76%, might increase that a bit soon. That is without a manifold for any reactors. I would personally go with something larger than the S1 and dial it down if needed.

Also what is going to be needed to hook up the M1 or S1 to the soft tubing?
