Live blackworms, live mussels, live brine, LRS. Those are foods I would use to entice a fish that’s not eating.

I am sad to report that both the regaland Goldflake died. I am not sure what happened but both were eating better and better and the Goldflake was actually eating pellets really well. But both died almost overnight with no signs of parasite. Pretty bummed and I am going to hold off on adding new fish for a while.

Thank you. For a couple of days I thought I had this but things just went south too quickly. Anyway I did learn a lot in the process.

Hi There,

I had a question to the FW Dip + Rally + CP/Copper Method

If you get a fish shipped overnight from the LFS is it okay to FW dip them right away? I usually dip them in Safety Stop first then they go into the QT where they get CP/Copper after a few days of eating. I'm going to need to switch to FW + Rally because I've having a hard time procuring formalin now.

can someone advise me on how to do this? I have a few branches of Tonga rock in my 90 that I want to put into my 125 that is cycling. I want to kill all the velvet off the tonga rock and put it in my 125. I love these pieces and would like to keep them. I have them soaking in 45f weather in tap water to start. DO I need to do anything else? add bleach? I want to make sure all velevet is dead on the rocks before I add them in.

If it were mine, I would add a significant amount of bleach. The colder water could greatly extend the parasites lifecycle in some stages so I wouldn't take the risk of just waiting 7 weeks. Hit it with a large amount of bleach for a few days and then do a lot of rinsing. When it no longer smells like bleach add a bottle of Prime and let that soak for a day. Then it should be safe to use.

Thanks. How about if I bleach it for a few days and then rinse and bake in like 300 degrees for a about 10 mins?
Im sure it will be nice and white and bright!

I would think that once it is completely dry for a few days, it should be good to go.
