Seems I’ve got velvet in my tank for the holidays. Lost two tangs yesterday, and a bullet goby. Today I noticed my lyretail Anthias is looking a bit dusty. Needing to go fallow I think and all in med tanks. I have 1 20g to set up but I am thinking I need a few more to house everyone.
my stock list:

Med size blue hippo (4-5”)
5” green Bird Wrasse
Larger Mystery Wrasse
Mated Designer Maroon Pair
Blotchy Anthias
Lyre Tail Anthias
Long Nose Hawk
Coral Beauty
Algae Blenny

I was thinking a 40g breeder to house the tang/ bird wrasse, hawk and maybe the Coral beauty, everyone else in the 20? Or should I do two 40’s, or an 80? Is there a preferred mechanical filtration to use to help eliminate ammonia issues? I may leave these running for future fish. And in what order should I treat as far as medication wise? Never had to deal with velvet before, and my brain is a bit scrambled from looking for equipment and google searches for treatments.
With going fallow in my display, should I be worried about my shrimp and reef lobster?
I know I’m kinda limited on time so kinda freaking, but try not to rush at the same time.

I just got through two bouts of velvet. I've concluded that the key is to act quickly! This disease can wipe out everything in a few days, so don't wait.

I put all of my fish in a single 40 breeder and I followed Humblefish's protocol linked below.

If you do not have access to Ruby Reef Rally or Formalin, you can use hydrogen peroxide to provide temporary relief:

I use an Aquaclear 70 in my 40 breeder with Copper Power. I keep the Copper Power at 2.0 ppm.
You can monitor the ammonia with a Seachem Ammonia badge.
I use the FritzZyme bacteria to cycle the hospital tank.

Good luck!

I'd be sure to use some Seachem Prime if you're going to keep that many fish in newly established tanks.

I used a Stock Tank when I had to treat for Velvet. If you have the space, the're a great option as they have a large footprint for the volume.
