Velvet on clown?

Hey guys if you could help me id whats goin on with my clownfish it would be greatly appreciated. Its kind of looks like velvet but i am not really sure. This is the best pic I could get. I havent added anything new to the tank for about 8 months so I didnt think this was possible?

It could be velvet so you will want to qt all fish in medication ASAP

I see some spots that look like ich. If it is velvet, the respiration rate would be elevated . Try counting the number of breaths in 15 seconds and multiply by four. If it is less than 100, probably not velvet. What other fish are in the tank and when was the last time you added a new animal?

Im thinking lympho or beginning of Brook ?

IDK- Brooklynella should have more mucus, and Lymphocystis would have larger granulomas.

Nothing new has been added to the tank for about 8 months. I have another clown, yellow tang, flame angel, royal gramma, and a purple firefish. The rest of the fish are doing fine right now. What kind of medication should I treat with? I have another tank ready to move the clown to

Did you check it’s respiration rate?
Copper would be the go to med for this. Coppersafe or Cupramine. It is best to dose using a Hanna checker, but I’ve dosed Coppersafe as long as I know the exact Gallon capacity of the tank. Time is of the essence here, if it’s velvet, you may only have 24 hours. With ich you have a bit more time. Never use ammonia removers with copper meds.
