video is very grainy. its hard to tell but in the first few sec of the video in frame by frame motion i could see white spots but still hard to say if its ich or velvet. either way its one of the 2 and which means fish dont have much time. You will need to get them out to a qt (all fish) and start medication process. meds are the same for treatment pretty much and copper can kill both parasites till a positive id is done.

I have a qt readily available and will start dosing cupramine tonight. Thanks!

I would add metroplex to the copper on the chance it’s brook, since these are clowns. I too cannot tell for sure but that mix would cover both.

Copper power is better, a bit gentler— and easier to measure. A Hanna copper checker is recommended as is an ammonia alert badge by seachem and some biospira for bacteria. Good luck!

So all of my fish went into qt. Its been running for 3 months.

I’ve dosed cupramine slower than the recommended pace. All fish are active and eating.

This one fish, however, got worse. It has been breathing heavily for a week now. It gets better one day but it gets worse the next. Its now gasping for air on the surface.

I thought about oxygen deprivation but I have an oversized aquaclear and there’s so much movement I am certain that’s not the case.

Other than some stress mark on its head I see no visible signs of parasites or disease.

I am wondering if this is fluke. What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Chris

I would give a FW dip, to see if it shows up any flukes. If not it may give tempary relief.
I think you are on the money for flukes though. He is really struggling to breathe in the last video, so make sure you have lots of O2 in the water.

Do a freshwater dip for flukes but that head injury appears infected.

Using kanaplex, metroplex, and furan 2 together would give you a head start on that. Use in a quarantine for 14 days as directed.
