I had 3 fish in my QT doing well for about 2 weeks. 1 watchmen goby and 2 bengaii cardinals. 2 days ago I thought I was having an ammonia spike, cardinals were "free floating but alive" so I did a couple large WCs and added prime and everyone started looking better after about 2 hours. About 24-36 hours later 1 Cardinal died and the other followed quickly I did notice they were discoloring in the mid section and they were hiding in the PVC more than normal as well as swimming at the surface with their mouths up. At this point I'm thinking velvet based on the speed of the deaths and I'm just looking to confirm my suspicions.
I did a a dead fish FW dip and nothing came off and the cardinal didn't have any spots visibile although I did catch the goby to inspect him and I saw he has a few spots.
Any suggestions on treatment? I'm trying to get a script for cp but I'm striking out so I'll be buying copper today hopefully.

Sounds like a vote for velvet then?
As well as an excellent read!

Another great read! I was just trying to Determine which for learning purposes.

I agree with ick in this case, but also agree with copper as treatment. Can't go wrong there, in your case. It almost sounds like the cardinals died of an infection.... I'm basing this on the redness you saw on the midbody of the cardinals that died.
