I agree. Every med has its side-effects. In my opinion that fish looks too healthy to (Edited... add new medications). Feed him a diversified diet and concentrate on water quality so he can fully recover.

Oh it's definitely sick. He's had confirmed sicknesses. He should continue with treatment, just not do anything drastic and relax. Stay the course.

Wow, it’s been a while! The clowns are still alive and well! Eating, swimming, and not much flashing anymore.
The only big issue I’m facing is simply that Nemo is being bullied a bit. I’ve been reluctant about a divider because I thought they had a close bond, but that’s clearly not the case and I may have to separate them just for Nemo’s health.

Nemo is often pushed towards the top as anywhere around the PVC territory is not allowed by Luxo. Nemo gets one, maybe two pellets, and the rest all go to Luxo. They like to stick together, but it seems to be a love-hate relationship where Nemo gets nipped at quite often.

Quick update: the clowns are both alive and happy! Aggression has toned down, and Nemo isn’t bullied like he used to be. They seem clear of symptoms, though copper is remaining at therapeutic levels as long as it can. The pair has grown the strange habit of hovering parallel to the wall, but I’d imagine that’s just them clowning around.

So I think I messed something up. The copper level must of fluctuated because the clowns are at the surface today breathing heavily. They still come by the glass whenever I go near and they still eat. Should I do an immediate water change in the QT or put them back home, given that the fallow only has a few days left?

I would use carbon, do a water change with fresh salt water, no copper. And start your two week observation period at this point. Do NOT put them in your DT yet. This could be copper it could be sickness. Just watch them.

One thing that is really neat is that my mocha had doubled in size since the QT started. Only issue is that she dwarves Nemo and outcompetes him....

The fallow is over!! I will wait two more weeks, however, to ensure the health of the clowns before they go back in. However, for the previous few days, I have observed no spots, flashing, itching, or heavy breathing. I’m also happy to inform that with the introduction of a new pipe, all aggression has gone away and they each host their own pvc pipe. Thank you everyone for your excellent advice and help, as I could not have done this without you!

It took a lot of work and patience, but they seem healthier than ever. Thank you everybody so much for your advice! I definitely could not have done this without you guys!
I’ve definitely learned a lot in the past few months, and look forward to all the expert tips to come! This has definitely been one heck of a ride for my tank, but it certainly would not be where it is today without R2R!

Update: they seem to be doing much better this time than the last. I have yet to notice discolorations, odd behavior, or any signs of parasites, which showed up quickly last time. I’ll keep my eyes out for anything, though! So far, so good!
