Yes I admit, I should have QT my fish before and this morning I lost my 2 tangs, clown, and pink anthias in the outbreak.

I have a scopas tang, pink anthias, hawk fish, damsel, and a cleaner wrasse left.

there is hammers, torch, blasto, and some sps in the tank. Currently in a coralline bloom/diatom.

i have a 40B QT setup which is plenty to fallow my DT with the amount of fish I have now.

Can I leave my corals in there and clean up crew and just feed a little here and there. Should I change my light schedule to fight it ? It was mainly velvet all over the tangs. Way too many white dots to count and it looked like hair / mucus coming off of them when I freshwater dipped .

Very sorry to hear that. Yes corals and inverts stay in the DT.

You could modify your lights to help with algea if that's what you want to do.

Just get the fish in treatment. Plenty of oxygenation. Copper can take a few days to provide relief.

The relief can be provided with Hydroplex. I had good success with using it to kill the bugs off the fish in a 10 minute saltwater dip. This is much less stressful than freshwater and I have done it again within 24 hours if needed. Then treat with Cupramine or Copper Power. Make sure you add an air stone to your QT tank.

Thank you guys, yeah it was hard to see them like that but I have to understand it happens . I’m glad much won’t change for DT other than no fish, all fish left look good except my scopas is starting to show a little bit of velvet now. Is it too late ?

I like that idea

Wit deaths already and Scopas showing trouble signs you will need to ramp the copper up much faster If you ramp up over days it will most likely be too late.

I have not copper treated any yet and all fish I put in QT survived . I have a scopas , pink anthias , cleaner wrasse , hawk fish and a damsel now. I will soon tho.

Just looked it up and some ppl say that’s a myth though?
Correct, prime can be used with chelated copper
It's no myth. Read the instructions!!!

Ummm yes it is a myth, you can use prime with copper power just fine :) cupramine you cannot as it is anionic form.

please do not spread misinformation

Yes, sorry about that. I should have stated Cupramine. However, my understanding is that copper and prime together will give you inaccurate test results for the amount of copper in your tank. So I don't think you want to mix these chemicals.
