Velvet question

Velvet can only affect fish right? I've been fighting Dino's and have had my hands it the DT a lot. No fish in DT for five weeks is there anyway to tell if velvet is gone before putting fish back in next week?

It takes 6 weeks of fallow to erradicate velvet. If you want to "test" the tank you can out a black Molly in the tank.

I don't think it's necessary as long as you have waited 6 weeks.
